PhD. M. İbrahim TURHAN/ Chairman/CEO

Chairman & CEO, İstanbul Menkul Kıymetler Borsası President, Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS) Member, World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) Board of Directors Mr. Ibrahim M. Turhan, born in 1968 in Izmir-Turkey, graduated from Lycée de Galatasaray İstanbul (Galatasaray High School). In 1987, he entered Boğaziçi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Management. After successfully achieving his undergraduate degree, he joined the Institute for Banking and Insurance Studies at the Marmara University in Istanbul, as research and teaching assistant, where he pursued his graduate studies in financial economics. He received his MA degree in International Banking in 1995, and his Ph.D. degree from the same university in 2001. Mr. Turhan was awarded a scholarship from the Marmara University Research Fund, and conducted a research on ‘the saving and investment behaviours of Turkish households’ at the European Institute in the University of Geneva (L'Institut Européen de l'Université de Genève IEUG). He also worked as a visiting research fellow at the Banking Centre in Loughborough University. Mr. Turhan lectured at various universities in Istanbul. He joined the Yeditepe University as an assistant professor, where he worked as the head of the International Business and Trade Department and the Banking and Insurance Management Department. Mr. Turhan also held the positions of Director of School of Vocational Studies and Director of School of Foreign Languages in the same university. Mr. Turhan has many articles on financial economics, macroeconomics, and political economy published in periodicals in Turkish and English. He served as Managing Editor and Editor in Chief in sectoral journals published on banking, finance and finance technologies. On April 1st 2004, while he was working as a part-time assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Beykent University, Istanbul, Mr. Turhan was elected as Board Member by the General Assembly of the Central Bank of Turkey. Mr. Turhan was elected as member of the Monetary Policy Committee by the Board on June 7th, 2006. He was appointed as Deputy Governor on May 8th 2008. He also served as a member of the Advisory Board of the Contemporary Turkish Studies Chair at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) European Institute until the end of 2011. Mr. Turhan is a member of the Leaders' Circle as well as the Advisory Board of the Global Economic Symposium organized by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Mr.Turhan was appointed as the Chairman and CEO of the İstanbul Menkul Kıymetler Borsası on January 1, 2012.
Osman AKYÜZ/ İMKB Board Deputy Chairman

Osman Akyüz was born in Trabzon in 1954. After completing high school in Adapazarı, he earned his BA degree from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences in 1977. Mr. Akyüz started his career as deputy inspector with the Ministry of Finance in 1978, where he continued to work until 1983, when he joined the private sector. Mr. Akyüz worked as financial consultant and auditor for a large construction group between 1983-1985, following which, he started to work for Albaraka Türk participation bank in 1985. He served as Manager and Deputy General Manager of the Bank and was promoted as General Manager on January 1, 1996. Mr. Akyüz retired from Albaraka Türk on March 5, 2002 and currently serves as Executive Director of the Bank. Mr. Akyüz is also Chairman of Istanbul Development Agency of Turkey, Board member of Sinpaş Gayrimenkul Yatırım Ortaklığı (Sinpaş Real Estate Investment Trust), and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Assembly member. Mr. Akyüz has been Secretary General of the Participation Banks Association of Turkey since 2002. Mr. Akyüz is married with two children and speaks English.
Abdülkerim EMEK/ Member

Mr. Abdülkerim Emek earned his BA degree from Istanbul University Faculty of Political Sciences Public Administration, and MA degree on financial management from Hull University, England. Mr. Emek is currently studying on his doctorate thesis in the Banking Department of Marmara University Institute of Banking and Insurance. Mr. Emek started his career as assistant specialist with the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (CMB) in 1987. He worked as specialist and senior specialist with CMB. Mr. Emek was appointed as CMB Board member on February 2, 2005, and as CMB Acting Chairman on September 9, 2009. Mr. Emek has been Turkish Prime Ministry Deputy Undersecretary since February 4, 2011. Mr. Emek is married with three children.

Cavidan KONURALP/ Member

Cavidan KONURALP was born in Istanbul. After earning her BA degree from the Business Management Department of Marmara University Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, she started her career as foreign currency specialist with T. Emlak Kredi Bank Bahçekapı Central Foreign Currency Branch in 1975. In this capacity, she dealt with foreign currency transactions, letters of credit, convertible deposits, and Euro and travelers’ cheques. Later, she was promoted as foreign currency transactions chief of the Bank’s Kadıköy Branch, which she carried out until 1980. Ms. Konuralp started to work for Genborsa Menkul Değerler A.Ş. (Genborsa Securities), a subsidiary of Çukurova Holding, in 1980, where she worked as investment specialist, dealer and broker. She was promoted as Kadıköy Branch manager of Genborsa Securities, following which, she worked as manager in the company’s head office for ten years. Ms. Konuralp participated in numerous trainings, seminars and conferences on banking and capital markets, including Emlak Bank’s training (responsible for all the bank departments), İstanbul Menkul Kıymetler Borsası (İMKB) broker training, İMKB Bonds and Bills Market broker training, and İMKB Bonds and Bills Market automated trading system applied training. Ms. Konuralp started to work for Başkent Menkul Değerler A.Ş. (Başkent Securities) in 1990, during the foundation process of the company. She was the Istanbul Branch manager in 1990-1993, and was promoted as assistant general manager in 1993. Between 1993-2000, she was assistant general manager and Board member of Başkent Securities. In 2000, Ms. Konuralp was promoted as General Manager of Başkent Securities, and worked as General Manager and Executive Director of the company until 2005. Ms. Konuralp has been Board member and Executive Director of Başkent Securities since 2005. Ms. Konuralp is married with two children. She speaks English and Italian.
İlhami KOÇ/ Member

Graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of International Relations in 1986 and started his career at Is bank as assistant auditor, at the same year of graduation. After working in the internal auditing, in April 1994, he was assigned for the tentative management of a private bank, which was transferred to the Savings deposit Insurance Fund. In October 1994, he was appointed as the Vice President in the Securities Department of Is bank. Major responsibilities included equity market operations, mutual funds management and international capital markets activities. After the foundation of Is Investment by the bank in 1997, he was appointed as the Head of Capital Markets and Portfolio Management. Mr. Koc was promoted as the Assistant General Manager at the same company in 1999. In 2001, Ilhami Koc was appointed as the General Manager of Is Private Equity. Then, in April 2002, he became the General Manager of Is Investment. Under the scope of investment banking operations, he has actively participated in many public offerings, privatizations, M&As as well as trading domestic and foreign securities, portfolio management, venture capital and private equity. Mr. Koc is the Chairman of the Board of Camis Securities, Maxis Securities (London), Efes NPL Asset Management. He conducted several training programs, conferences and workshops about capital markets. Ilhami Koc is married, with father of a child.
Mehmet OSMANOĞLU/ Member

Born in Hereke in 1963, Mr. Mehmet OSMANOGLU graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Business Administration and has been member of the İMKB Executive Council since 2007.
